A very unusual and rare 1940/1950s hardware shop window display for the well known hacksaw blade manufacturers eclipse, featuring a stunning image of a well dressed gentleman with a hacksaw in hand with a vice. The advertising item is absolutely superb when plugged in the original motor to the back begins to work, when doing so the man proceeds to cut the metal in the vice. Would have been a wonderful window advertisement. With the original wooden easel stand to the rear and the original instruction label. Complete with all the original wiring and plug although I would encourage this to be replaced as very dated. Such a fantastic advertisement made from wood and card.
condition
the hacksaw display is in working condition. When plugged in his arm starts to cut with a little push on the swinging pendulum he speeds up. Such a beautiful advertising item. The motor is connected to a bolt which then is grub screwed to the arm giving the rotational movement. The grub screws have been replaced but I would encourage to replace the bolts also as the threads are rather worn so sometimes the grub screws come loose, causing the display not to work so could do with some tlc and mechanical work but is in working order. I would encourage re wiring as all the original wires. A superb thing find another!
