What a beautiful tea sample tin. For Daveys tea. Superbly printed. Featuring a woman displaying the art of tea plucking on a plantation. With superb red font. Also a lovely little feature is the honey comb type printing in the corners of the tin exceptionally well done on this example.
not a lot is know about Daveys tea. Thought to have been part of the Rangalla tea company. Which was one of Sri Lanka's first plantation. The tin dates from around 1910 what a survivor. Ceylon tea was a massive part of England heritage from the mid 19th century. Sample tea tins have been amoumgest some of the most prolific and collectible tins.
