A beautiful chocolate and cocoa tin from the York based company Rowntrees, in the early 1900s Rowntrees produced a set of around 5 gift tins, each different, one being this exceptional pictorial motor car example. All the tins were the same shape with the factory to the bottom. This being my favourite and the most popular of that series, featuring a scene of a chauffeur and 2 very high class ladies in a very early automobile, with the Rowntrees advertising to the edges. A very hard one to find in the set a beautiful tin
condition
the tin has some surface wear and scratches, with some mottling but a very hard tin to find in any condition, good strong colours a credit to any Collector
